DESTMA: Okiemute Tasks Officials On Discipline, Ethics

The Director General of Delta State Traffic Management Authority DESTMA, Hon. Dr. Benjamin Essien Okiemute, Director General of Delta State Traffic Management Authority Destma, has urged officials on discipline and compliance to operational ethics.

Okiemute also restated the agency’s commitment to discipline and professionalism during its monthly meeting.

The agency reinforced its five codes of conduct covering dress code, civility, responsiveness, punctuality, and professional handling of offenders.

A new patrol team has also been created to improve operations, while newly promoted inspectors were directed to acquire their uniforms.

The Director-General announced changes to the agency’s leave policy, restricting staff to sick leave only, effective September.

He also cautioned against absenteeism, warning that sanctions would apply to defaulters.

Okiemute commended zonal teams across the state, stressing that DESTMA’s mandate is to enforce order, not extort road users.

He further confirmed new appointments, including Oditah Emmanuel as Assistant Zonal Head in Asaba and Mr. Efe as Coordinator of the Asaba Zone.

The DG urged staff to uphold the agency’s image and values.
