The Coalition Group of the African Democratic Congress (CGOA), Taraba State Chapter, has formally endorsed Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi (Danji SS) as its preferred governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

Addressing journalists during a press briefing in Jalingo on Monday, its Coordinator, Mallam Abubakar Umar Sunkani, said the coalition was speaking “out of conscience,” insisting that Taraba State has been “taken for granted, shortchanged and recklessly mismanaged” under the present government.
He described the state as a “painful example of wasted potential,” noting that despite huge federal allocations, abundant natural resources and a vibrant youthful population, Taraba continues to stagnate across key sectors.
According to the coalition, roads are routinely flagged off and abandoned, hospitals exist without drugs or functional equipment, schools are neglected with demoralised teachers, while civil servants remain frustrated and uncertain.
The gruop further criticised the administration for failing in youth employment, security and economic development, accusing it of reducing governance to “media noise, staged ceremonies and hollow propaganda” while the real suffering of the people deepens.
It also decried the absence of a clear development blueprint, accountability and tangible results have stripped the government of any moral justification to seek continuity.
“The 2027 election is a referendum on failure versus progress,”
Sunkani added that Taraba cannot afford another four years of experimentation, excuses or recycled failure.
“After extensive consultations across the 16 local government areas involving youths, women groups, professionals, traditional institutions and party stakeholders, CGOA unanimously resolved to endorse Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi as the ADC governorship candidate”.
CGOA cited his two-time election to the House of Representatives for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency, his grassroots popularity, and his ability to win elections without godfather support as evidence of credibility and political strength.
The coalition called on the ADC national leadership, party structures, youths and “all patriotic Tarabans” to rally behind Shiddi, declaring that 2027 must mark “the end of failure and the rebirth of purposeful leadership” in Taraba State. The program was attended by party faithful across Taraba State.
