
The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, today conducted an on-the-spot inspection of the ongoing flyover construction project at Otovwodo Junction East–West Ughelli, 21st October 2025. The project, being handled by Julius Berger Construction Company, is a major infrastructural intervention aimed at improving traffic flow and urban development within the area.
During the inspection, the Chairman expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, commending the contractors for their professionalism and adherence to project timelines.
He emphasized that the flyover, once completed, will significantly ease traffic congestion and enhance socio-economic activities in Ughelli North.
Egbo also visited the rehabilitation site near the High Court close to the Ughelli Police Station, where his administration is carrying out minor roadworks.
He assessed the level of progress and assured residents of his continued commitment to road maintenance and infrastructure improvement across the local government.
In a related development, the Chairman took decisive action to restore order at the Otovwodo Market area. He supervised the removal of illegal roadside traders who had encroached on the road, obstructing the free movement of vehicles and pedestrians. This exercise was aimed at enforcing public order and ensuring the safety of all road users.
Egbo appealed for cooperation and urged them to relocate to designated market spaces provided by the council. He reiterated his administration’s support for small businesses but emphasized that such activities must align with the law and broader public interest.
He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering dedication to infrastructural development, urban renewal, and public safety. He called on residents to support government efforts aimed at building a cleaner, safer, and more organized Ughelli North.
