The DG of Bayelsa New Media, Dr. Samuel Kolawole Oredipe, has explained why he embarked on a media tour alongside journalists, members of the Bayelsa government new media team, and the PDP social media leadership.
According to him the aim of this tour was to visit ongoing project sites and inspect the Nembe- Brass road and Opolo Market dualized double lane road, which are some legacy projects embarked upon by Governor Douye Diri- led prosperity government
He state this while fielding questions from journalists.
He said “the Nembe- Brass road, which is a major project currently being undertaken by the Bayelsa state government, has seen tremendous progress. With 6.5 kilometers already asphalted, one bridge fully completed, and work steadily progressing on the second bridge, it is evident that this project is a top priority for the prosperity government”
The team also observed that 14 culverts have already been completed, showcasing the commitment of the government.
The media team also visited the Opolo Market dualized double lane road and was pleased to see the significant progress being made. The drainages have been completed, and the stone base has been laid, creating a solid foundation for the road.
This news is sure to bring joy to the residents of Opolo Market, who have eagerly awaited the completion of this project.
Director Bayelsa New Media, Dr. Samuel Kolawole Oredipe, could not contain his excitement as he commended Governor Douye for embarking on this landmark project. He expressed his admiration for the governor’s commitment to delivering on his promises to the people of Bayelsa.
This media tour was a testament to the transparency and accountability of the government, as they allowed the media and the public to witness the progress being made firsthand.
The DG also extended his gratitude to the contractor for the NEMBE- BRASS road and Opolo Market dualized double lane road for the solid work they have done so far. This project is no doubt a result of the government’s vision and the contractor’s expertise, which has brought about a significant transformation in the state’s infrastructure and urban renewal .
It is safe to say that Bayelsa is on its way to becoming a top destination for tourists and a model state for development in Nigeria.
Speaking to journalists earlier the state Commissioner of Information , Orientation and Strategy, Hon Ebiowou Koku – Obiyai said the road projects being undertaken by Governor Douye Diri government are testament to the fact that these were parts of his electioneering promises during his campaign across the three senatorial districts and urged Bayelsans and residents to continue to cooperate and support the government to attract more dividend of democracy.
Meanwhile , two Indigenes from Nembe, Mr Allen Wanaemi Trust and Abel Ifiemi had in their separate interviews applauded and commended governor Douye Diri for bringing the Nembe – Brass road project that have been neglected by successive governments
to reality.
They said the project when completed will unearth the tourism potential and the latent importance of the Blue and Marine Economy which the state has comparative advantages over its contemporaries in the litoral geographical location.
Both project managers from the multinational corporations handling the projects posited that they don’t have any challenge as the state government is funding the projects adequately and commended the communities for their cooperation and support.
