The Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Julius Takeme (JP), charged the people of Tuomo Community to maintain peace and order.
He gave the charge at a stakeholders meeting with prominent personalities on Monday 20th January, 2025, at Tuomo, headquarters of Tuomo Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State.
The meeting was to finalize arrangements and commence the process to conduct election to produce executives for the Community.
Meanwhile, the Council Chairman had directed the Transition Committee to commence the sales of forms to contestants.
Recall that Takeme some weeks ago constituted five (5) Members Transition Committee to oversee the affairs of the Community, pending the conduct of the elections by the Transition Committee.
The Council boss appealed to all the contestants to be peaceful and law abiding, emphasizing that without peace there would be no meaningful development in the community.
Some of the personalities at the meeting were Barr Roland Ozidi Ombe, Secretary Burutu Local Government Council, Hon. Sunday Perekeme, Chief of Staff to the Council Chairman, Mr Philemon Yamene, Principal Secretary to the council chairman, Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) and the Director for State Security Services (DSS).
The stakeholders spoke through Hon Prince. O Johnny, who expressed gratitude to Takeme’s inclination to arrest the election crisis in Tuomo.
They described the Council Chairman as a true leader, while appealing to all the contestants and followers to continue to allow peace to reign.
