Slaboh Hails GEJ, Otuaro, Ogbuku Over Construction Of East West Road

The National Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme PAP (Third Phase), Gen. Elaye Slaboh has commended former President Goodluck Jonathan, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Chief Sir Dennis Otuaro, PhD, and the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Samuel Ogbuku, PhD for their collective efforts to the completion of the East West Road.

The road has been in a terrible state since 2022, caused by the flood disaster which rampaged the Niger Delta.

Slaboh in a statement on Monday, said the completion of East West road was a key achievement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

” It has addressed a major concern of the Niger Deltans and other commuters plying the road”

” Today, we are very glad to see the East West Road in good condition again since 2022, this is a very significant step taken by the Federal Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to address an issue of grave concern for the Niger Deltans and road users who conduct their businesses between Bayelsa, Rivers State and other neighboring States”

According him, ” It is a great relief to us and we are glad to welcome it, because since 2023, we have lost scores of souls to road accidents, kidnapping and incessant armed robbery attacks by criminals who operates within the damaged parts of the road, infact the east west road suddenly turned into the most insecured part of the Niger Delta and has consistently put commuters and other road users in rising fears”

” So, we are very grateful to the Federal Government, and our fathers Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Sir Dennis B. Otuaro PhD, and Dr. Samuel Ogbuku for their individual and joint efforts and for standing in the gap to ensure this project is completed”

” We are grateful and we look forward to more as there are still other unfinished projects within the region that needs urgent attention and action”

Slaboh had called on the Federal Government to fix the East West Road.
