The Executive Chairman, Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo Ksc, on Monday, presented uniforms to pupils of12 Schools in Ughelli North LGA, Delta State.
He also promised to provide school desks, textbooks, and other essential materials to public schools in Ughelli North.
Egbo is fulfilling promise made to pupils during his working visit across primary schools in the local government area.
The event was witnessed by Head teachers from the seventy-five primary schools in the Local Government, including the Secretary of the Ughelli North Local Education Authority, Chief Pius Omobaye, and pupil representatives of the first batch of benefiting schools.
Egbo emphasized the importance of basic education to the development of a child, adding that his commitment to providing quality education to the pupils of public schools in Ughelli North as encapsulated in campaign manifesto.
He further revealed that provisions have been made for school desks, which will soon be distributed to educational institutions.
According to him, the council is undertaking the construction and renovation of public conveniences for schools lacking such facilities.
Egbo pledged to conduct visits to schools to assess their requirements.
He encouraged the teachers to persist in their commendable efforts to positively impact the children, noting that their efforts in instilling good morals in the children are highly appreciated.
The elated children and head teachers expressed their sincere appreciation to the council chairman for his exemplary leadership and support For education.
They pledged to continue supporting government educational initiatives and to perform their duties diligently.
