Ofuoma Community Holds Election Nov, 2025, As Egbo Resolves Leadership Crisis

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government, Delta State, has Olorogun (Barr.) Jaro Movudu Egbo, has put to rest the leadership crisis in Ofuoma Community, an oil producing community in Afiesere Oilfield, in OML30.

Egbo, convened a security meeting on Wednesday, with stakeholders of Ofuoma Community to address ongoing leadership disputes.

The meeting was attended by Chief Duro Afatakpa, Dr. Theophilus Okpidi, Chief Moses Erhabor, other leaders, youth and women representatives, the President-General of the Ughelli Descendants Union (UDU).

Key issues discussed included tenure extension controversies, pending court cases, alleged sale of government lands, and the rehabilitation of facilities at the Delta State College of Health Sciences and Technology.

Resolutions reached include holding elections in November 2025 to elect new Executives of Ofuoma Community Development Union OCDU.

Others were withdrawal of all court cases against outgoing President General of OCDU, Chief Godfrey Etabuko by September 30, halting land sales, and maintaining peace in the community.

Egbo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peaceful coexistence and pledged continued support for the development of Ofuoma and other communities in the LGA.

Meanwhile, an opinion leader from Ofuoma Community, Mr. Chris Eriyamremu commended Olorogun Jaro Egbo for his intervention.

Eriyamremu said the resolutions reached, particularly the OCDU election slated for November, 2025, were commendable as it will restore unity and bring lasting peace to the community.

The Peace Mediator and Conflict Management Consultant, further expressed appreciation to the Chiefs and leaders of Ofuoma for showing understanding.

“ November 2025 is here, and I sincerely appeal to my beloved people of Ofuoma Community to work towards holding a united and peaceful OCDU elections and most importantly, persons of good character, reputation and competence should be elected to represent the community. I congratulate the winners in advance “
