NUJ loses member, Victoria Feboke

The Bayelsa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has expressed shock on the sudden demise of one of her astute member, late Mrs. Victoria Feboke.

Late Victoria Feboke was a unionist par excellence who plied her journalism profession with the Bayelsa State Newspaper Corporation and proved her mettle as former Chairperson, National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Bayelsa State Chapter.

Speaking during a condolence visit on the immediate family of late Victoria Feboke, the Chairman, Bayelsa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Samuel Numonengi who led other members of the Executive, the leadership of NAWOJ, SWAN and some journalists in the state commiserated with the family, the New Waves Chapel, NAWOJ and the entire journalists in the state describing the sad event as irreparable loss and an eclipse that has darkened the day.

While attesting to the good characters of late Victoria, Comrade Numonengi noted that her death was hard to believe and has thrown the union into mourning.

He prayed the Almighty Lord to console every member of the family and the entire journalists in the state and for her soul to rest in peace.

Also speaking the Chairperson, NAWOJ, Bayelsa State Chapter, Madam Grace Orumieyefa described the loss as painful stressing that late Victoria was a nice person and that they worked cordially when late Victoria was the Chairperson, NAWOJ Bayelsa State Chapter.

In his response, the husband to late Victoria, Mr. Kingsley Feboke said the death of his beloved wife was unfortunate because she was full of life and no one expected that she would die a sudden death.

He lamented her painful death emphasizing that his wife died right in his hands and there was nothing he could do to save her life.

Mr. Feboke thanked the NUJ family for coming to console with them and noted however that the family is consoled because his wife lived a good life and prayed for her soul to rest in the bosom of the Lord.
