NSUBEB To Pay Nasarawa Teachers

The Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board is set to take over the payment of teachers salaries from the Nasarawa State, Ministry of Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs.

The revelations was made known by the Central Coordinating Committee Chairman on recruitment of Basic Education Teachers in the state and also Permanent Member of the Board, Hon. Joseph Maisamari Kaura when he paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Nasarawa State, Muhammad Iyimoga Igye recently in Lafia.

He said they were in the Ministry to interface with the Ministry on the recent approval given by His Excellency, Executive Governor, Nasarawa State, Engr.Abdullahi A.Sule, for the transfer of teachers salaries from the Ministry to Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, adding that the Board is prepared to take government decisions.

” This is the continuation of the Committee assignment which is saddled with the responsibility of implementation of teachers promotions, provision of infrastructures and also to transfer teachers salaries from the Ministry to the Board. In fact, we have done all the needful ” he said.

In their separate submission, the Special Adviser on Education matters in the state Hon. Daniel Gida, Chairman Education Secretaries forum, representative of ALGON and the representative from Ministry of Education, commended the Governor for restructuring in Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board for optimal performance .

Highlight of the visit was the inauguration of three man Committee which were saddle with the responsibility of collecting data from Local Government, Subeb and the Ministry for reconciliation .
