Acting Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba has congratulated former Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida on his 83rd birthday.
Garba stated this when he led a State Government delegation on a birthday visit to Babangida at his Uphill residence on Saturday.
He said Babangida is a blessing to Nigeria considering the critical roles he played in keeping the Country together and the developmental strides he attained in terms of infrastructure and human capital development.
Garba described Babangida as a bridge builder who has been instrumental in keeping Nigeria as one.
The Acting Governor noted that Niger State government has been benefiting from the wise counsel of the elder statesman; hence, it will continue to tap from his wealth of experience
” Niger State Government remains thankful to Allah for keeping the General Babangida alive and prays that Allah will continue to show him Mercy”
The Acting Governor thereafter presented to the celebrant his portrait as a birthday gift.
The Commissioner for Information, Hajiya Binta Mamman, Commissioner for Homeland Security, Gen. Muhammad Bello (Rtd), Commissioner for Lands Maurice Magaji, Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Hajiya Fatima Adamu as well as the Commissioner for Nomadic and Pastoral Affairs, Umar Sanda Rebe and other Principal Officers were among the State Government’s delegation.
