NDLEA Flags Off Sensitization Against Drug Abuse In Bayelsa

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Bayelsa State Command, has intensified efforts aimed at tackling drugs abuse in the State.

The agency held it’s sensitization program on 18th February, 2025.

Commander Kanu Sunny Chukwuemeka, CN has flagged off A 5- Day War Against Drug Abuse sensitization campaign with the Theme: Safer Communities Without Illicit Drugs in Amassoma community, SILGA, Bayelsa State.

In a statement signed by Obah Daniel Howells,SN, Public Relations Officer of NDLEA, Bayelsa state command , said Day 1 activities featured Anti Drug Abuse lectures at Government Secondary Amassoma and Community Secondary School, Amassoma.

Resource persons were, DSC DDR DCN Francis Chia, PhD, and ACN Godwin Erepa and the program was well attended by both Head and members of Amassoma Vigilante Group and counterparts from the Boy Scout in Amassoma.

The statement added that the programme received the full support of Engr. Godknows Alamieyeseigha State Director, NDDC Bayelsa State, from Amassoma who feels burdened by the alarming rate of drug abuse among youths.
