Kaduna Civil Servants Not Going To office Over Hike In transportation

Some civil servants working in Kaduna state government said they’ve stop going to office, attributing it to lack of money to meet the current hike in transport fair orchestrated by the rising cost of PMS otherwise know as petrol by NNPCL.

A situation report on current transportation in Kaduna State and environments compiled Thursday shows that Sabon Tasha to Central Market (Kasuwa), Kaduna main town, now cost N500, Gonin Gora to Kasuwa N500 only, for going through Bus Town Service (BTS).

That of Barnawa, Narayi and Kakuri areas to Kasuwa now cost N400 each, while that of Kawo to Kasuwa is now N300, as that of Maraban Rido to Sabo Tasha escalated to now cost N400 each.

Others are Rigachikun to Kawo -N300, Maraban Jos to Rigachikun -N400, Maraban Jos to Kawo -N600,
Zaria to Kawo -N1,600, Kawo to Zaria -N2,700, Jos to Kaduna -N10,000, Kaduna to Abuja -N8,000 respectively.

Earlier, most of the above listed communities inter- transportations were far less than the current price, ranging from N200 – N300 respectively.

Speaking during a local radio phoning program on Friday in Kaduna, many civil servants who called in to contribute on the vex topic Centred on recent increase in petrol pump price said they had to seat back at home, when they could no longer afford paying transportation to their offices.

“O God, please have mercy on the masses of this country. Deliver us from these Egyptians masquerading as leaders in Nigeria, who are busy stealing the resources of Nigerians leaving them in abject poverty in the midst of God’s bountiful blessings of variety of material and mineral resources”, a Kaduna residents who compiled the transport situation reported stated with lamentation.

While some blamed NNPCL others lambasted the country’s leadership harsh polices under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Our correspondent who went round some parts of the town reported that the cost of transportation is quite high and even more depending on the type of transport which varies from Bus to Keke Napep, addition that motorcycle is the worst.
