Ifeoma Nwankwo, Member, Board of Governing Council, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, has congratulated Dr. (Mrs) Ngozi Okonjo – Iweala on her re-emergence for second term as Director – General, World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Okonjo – Iweala had emerged sole candidate for the exalted position from a selection process, which has paved the way for her to remain in the office for another term.
Recall that the Delta State born technocrat and international personality was the first female to ascend such an exalted and enviable global office.
In a statement on Saturday, Nwankwo, said the re-appointment of Okonjo – Iweala was a further testament of the calibre of content Nigerians are composed of and quality of contributions to global growth and development.
“ I wish her all the best in her current appointment as she consolidates in office to innovate optimum valued services for the global trade community”
Nwankwo continued, “ I must also congratulate Nigeria and Nigerians on the attainment and sustainability of this rare feat achieved by Dr Ngozi and numerous other well – meaning Nigerians”
