The Governor of Bayelsa State, Donye Diri has asked Chairmen of Local Government Council to commence the weekly ” Prosperity Walk” for health benefits.
Governor Diri gave the directive on Saturday, shortly after his usual walking exercise.
He said, ” After my daily fitness exercise this morning, I directed our Local Government Chairmen to immediately adopt the State Weekly Prosperity Walk in their respective Council Headquarters every Thursday to boost the healthy living of the people.”
“The Chairman of my Local Government Area, Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA, Mr. Tariye Lelei, who is incidentally the Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in the State, has been asked to communicate this directive to his colleagues.”
“Health indeed is wealth, and this decision is for the overall benefit of our people.”
