Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has redeemed pledge of truckload of rice and 20 cows to members of National Youths Service Crops (NYSC), serving in Niger State.
Also, each Corps member will get N200,000 bonus.
Recall that Governor Bago made pledge at the swearing in of 2024 Batch B, Stream one orientation course on Tuesday, 2nd July, 2024.
The Governor also promised to sink five boreholes to provide sufficient water at the camp.
However, the Coordinator of NYSC in Niger State, Mrs Olayinka Abdulwahab, on Thursday in Minna, confirmed receiving the truckload of Rice and cows from the State Government.
According to her, 600 bags of rice and 20 cows were received by both Corps members and camp officials.
She revealed that the process for the payment of the N200,000 was ongoing, while the survey for the five boreholes and the toilets announced by the governor has commenced.
The NYSC state coordinator said the donation of the items would help mitigate the challenges faced by course participants during orientation exercises.
She commended the governor for his kind gesture to the Corp members, calling on other Governors to emulate of Niger State Government
