History was made on Monday, as the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Delta State, Senator Joel-Onovwakpo Thomas empowered about 1000 indigenes from the area.

This is the first time, such a huge empowerment programme was held and constituents smiled home with items gifted them by their Senator.

It is historic because the Senator, Joel-Onovwakpo Thomas has barely spent a year in the Senate.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page on Tuesday morning, Senator Joel-Onovwakpo stated, ” Yesterday, in fulfilment of my electoral promises and in alignment with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I had the privilege of empowering over 1,000 constituents with various essential materials”

” These included deep freezers, cassava grating machines, sewing machines, grinding machines, complete sets of Yamaha outboard machines, solar lighting engineering equipment and a range of agricultural enhancement tools”

According to the Senator, ” This empowerment is designed to boost productivity, alleviate economic hardship, and improve the livelihoods of our people”
” It was a remarkable occasion that reflects my strong commitment to enhancing the standard of living for my constituents”
” As the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, I remain resolute in my mission to provide quality representation in the Senate”

” This empowerment programme is only the beginning of the positive changes that lie ahead. Together, we will build a brighter and more prosperous future for all”

The event was held at the Oleh Township Stadium in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State.
