
The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, on Tuesday, 30th December 2025, received the newly elected community executives of Ikweghwu Community and Okan Community, both in Agbarho Kingdom, at the council secretariat.
The delegation from Ikweghwu Community was led by Mr. Akaphiare Frank Akpobo, while the Okan Community delegation was led by Mr. Efe Obene. The visit was aimed at formally introducing the newly elected executives of both communities and expressing appreciation to the Chairman for ensuring a peaceful and transparent electoral process in their respective communities.
During the visit, the community leaders commended the Ughelli North Local Government Council for its support and neutrality, which contributed greatly to the successful conduct of the elections without rancour or violence.
Responding, the Executive Chairman, Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo, congratulated the newly elected executives on their victory and charged them to see their election as a call to selfless service.
He emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence in fostering sustainable development at the grassroots level.
Egbo further advised the community leaders that the local government council would not accept or recognize any form of unauthorized development fees, urging them to adopt transparent and lawful means of community development.
He stressed that peace and unity remain the foundation for progress and called on the executives to work collectively for the interest of their people.
The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peace, good governance, and grassroots development, noting that these values are in line with the “MORE Agenda” of the Delta State Governor.
He encouraged the executives to uphold peace in their communities and partner with the local government to drive meaningful development.
