Egbema youths begs Tinubu to make a litre of fuel N200 to tackle inflation

Egbema Youth Political Forum (EYPF) has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to make a litre of fuel N200 which will drastically drop inflation.

The group commended protesters for their resilience and exercising their constitutionally guaranteed right as enshrined in section (40) of the 1999 constitution as (Amended) over the untold hardship the masses are faced with.

This was made known in a statement on Monday in Warri, signed by Barr. Ebigbagha S. Baidi, Chairman; Comrade Karina E. Yoroki, Secretary; Barr. Ebiterigha D. Ejemi, Spokesman and Barr. Odimiyentimi Festus Eyenmi, Legal Adviser.

It reads, “ The Egbema Youth Political Forum joins other aggrieved Nigerians and appeal to the Federal Government that premium motor spirit (pms) popularly known as fuel price should be reviewed and reduced to N200, and in doing so other commodities will automatically reduce in the market for Nigerians to afford and also review some of the economic policies that are contributing to the hardship faced by Nigerians across the country”

They further appealed to protesters to be civil as they continue the protest and not indulge in destroying Government or private properties.

“On behalf of Egbema Youth Political Forum, we also want to most respectfully appeal to our president, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), to holistically address the legitimate demands of the masses to alleviate the untold hardship in the country. It is a known fact that there is hunger in the land due to exorbitant price of commodities and skyrocketed price of fuel”

The group reiterated that President Tinubu’s speech on 4th of August 2024 did not address the essential demands presented by the protesters, but Tinubu’s speech is more likely a threat to Nigerians to adapt to the present situation.

The Ijaw youths urged President Tinubu to advise the security personnel to be professional in dealing with the peaceful protesters and refrain from abuse of human rights because the primary duty of the President and security agents is to protect lives and properties and not to destroy same.

“ Our prayers for a better nation will be answered”
