The Director General of the Delta State Traffic Management Authority DESTMA, Hon. Dr. Benjamin Essien Okiemute, has advised staff to maintain the agency’s rules and ethics.
Okiemute gave the advice while speaking on key issues during the agency’s monthly meeting.
Also, Director of Operations emphasized the importance of prompt response to events and respectful interaction with road users to avoid misunderstandings.
DESTMA officials were reminded to receive and relay calls to the appropriate quarters to prevent impending dangers during duty enforcement
He said officers who sat for promotion exams can expect their promotion letters soon, having demonstrated good performance.
The agency has introduced two new units: the Provost Unit and the Intelligence Unit, with some staff inducted into these units.
The agency plans to provide relevant training for staff in these new units as part of its reform efforts to rebrand and improve DESTMA’s effectiveness.
Furthermore, all staff are expected to adhere to the agency’s rules and regulations, anticipating further developments and reforms within the organization.
