DESTMA DG, Okiemute Emerges President General Of Ivrogbo Community, Urge Youths To Shun Violence

The Director General of Delta State Traffic Management Authority DESTMA, Hon. Dr. Benjamin Essien Okiemute, has been elected President General of Ivrogbo Community in Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State

Okiemute, at an interactive town hall meeting on Friday, cautioned the youths to shun violence and crime activities, so to maintain unity and drive development in the community.

He expressed his commitment to work closely with the youths to attract meaningful developmental progress to Ivrogbo.

Okiemute urged them to shun drug abuse and warned that any youth found engaging in crime would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The President General announced the suspension of all activities at the riverside, including sand dredging, wood logging, and palm oil harvesting, pending the inauguration of a new committee to oversee such operations.

Okiemute and members of his executive council further pledged to collaborate with youths and the entire Ivrogbo community to restore the community’s past glory and ensure sustainable development.

Meanwhile, the youths commended Okiemute for convening the interactive meeting, describing it as timely and crucial in addressing their needs and strengthening cooperation.

Okiemute assured the youths that their concerns would be prioritized, adding that a general town hall meeting for the entire Ivrogbo community has been scheduled for December 28.
