- Dismisses defection rumour
A former presidential aspirant in the 2019 election under the All Progressives Congress APC, Alhaji Barr Mumakai Unagha has maintained that he remains a member of Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Delta State.
He dismissed the rumour that he has defected to the All Progressives Congress along with the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Alhaji Mumakai Unagha denied the speculation while speaking to journalists in his town Evwreni, Ughelli North local Govt Area of Delta State.
According to him, he still remains a strong and committed member of the People Democratic Party PDP, adding that he deos not see any justification of leaving the party.
” The governor has taken the wrong steps even though he has the conditional right to do so”
He opined that the governor did not defect on his own will, stressing that he may have been compelled or under a very strong reason to have taken such a decision of defected.
Alhaji Mumakai Unagha a second republic politician pointed out that nobody can pull him by the nose or compel him to leave PDP as he is not a baby politician, and mature enough to think for himself.
He blamed the ruling All Progressives Congress of intimidation resulting in the gale of defection
The Lawyer condemned the mass defection which he attributed to fear of being prosecuted. Mind you not the governor.
He frowned at high profile politicians that defected with the governor.
