An African Proverbs says, “ One cannot be at the River side and still uses saliva to watch his/her hands”
The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must exploit the benefits from the Dangote Refinery, including other functioning private refineries in the country.

There is abundance of crude oil in Nigeria, and luckily the Dangote Refinery has the capacity to refine the quantity required for domestic consumption. So, why the importation of PMS?
It is embarrassing to know that Nigeria’s four Refineries were grounded and the Country over the years relied on importation of refined products.
These four refineries are not working despite Trillions of Naira spent on purported Turn Around Maintenance ( TAM), this is because some certain individuals wanted the Refineries never to work as they benefit from importation of PMS.
But, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, took it upon himself to save Nigeria from such an embarrassment, and decided to build the Dangote Refinery, well situated in Lagos State, home State of President Tinubu.
This Editorial by THEPALACE Newspaper, is to call on the Federal Government, ably led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to grab the opportunity that has been provided by Dangote Refinery, for the benefit of Nigeria and citizens.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, is a patriotic Nigerian, and private Businessman. He is not a politician and does not belong to any party. That ungodly and unnecessary politics to frustrate and undermine Dangote Refinery must stop.
We urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who doubles as Minister of Petroleum, to look inward deeply to understand the vast economic and human benefits that comes with Dangote Refinery.
The Dangote Refinery is providing chains of benefits to the Country, Lagos State and Nigerians. It becomes imperative for President Tinubu to partner with Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
From all indications, the 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day Dangote Refinery, is capable to refine and produce sufficient PMS to meet local demand and there will be no need for importation of PMS.
The $20-billion Dangote Refinery, will outlive Alhaji Aliko Dangote, but building the Refinery in Nigeria, has given hope to the citizens and future Nigerians.
President Tinubu must end importation of PMS in 2024, and this is why Mr. President must do everything possible to ensure sufficient supply of crude oil to Dangote Refinery.
President Tinubu should dismantle anything standing on the way of Dangote Refinery. Nigerians are lamenting over high cost of PMS.
The Federal government and Dangote Refinery can make a good partnership to stop importation and bring down the cost of PMS and other refined products.
Dangote Refinery should not be battling to secure enough crude oil locally to refine, and this compelling Dangote Refinery to rely on purchasing of crude oil from outside of the country.
The export of refined products by Dangote Refinery to Cameron is a welcome development though, but with the large population of Nigeria, we need the Dangote fuel more in Nigeria than Cameron, therefore, the Federal government must be proactive to do something about it.
The best legacy for President Tinubu is to end fuel importation and he can achieve it by partnering with Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
Interestingly, other African Nations are much happy for Dangote Refinery, but Nigeria where the Dangote Refinery is built and situated, are making ungodly efforts to frustrate the man.
Export of refined products to Cameron has again affirmed Dangote Refinery’s ability to meet domestic needs in Nigeria.
