• To resolve issues with Edo State Govt
The Neo-Black Movement of Africa, has appointed Akeem Zibiri as Acting President alongside with other 14 Caretaker Committee members.
The appointment of a 15-Man National Caretaker Committee to oversee the affairs of the movement was disclosed by Hon. Bar Isimeme Iriogbe, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Member, MBOF, on Friday in Benin City, Edo State.
The movement has also resolved to interface with the Edo State Government to address the demolition of NBM National Secretariat and other related issues.
In a statement, Iriogbe said, “ I, today address you in my capacity as the Chairman, Board of Trustees, and on behalf of the undersigned former National Heads, Chairmen, National Council of Elders and MBOF”
“ It was resolved that the administration tenureship under the leadership of Ese Kakor has come to an end with immediate effect. And it is also directed that the NBM of Africa under the leadership of Fola Ogunmefun and Dr Ishaq Osagie-Eweka is hereby disbanded”
He said, “ All suspensions and deaxations from June 2023 are here by lifted for the purpose of reunifying the entire members of the Movement and a 15-Man Caretaker Committee (CTC) is hereby constituted at the National level to steer the affairs of the Movement worldwide for three(3) months, supervising all elections across board and hosting a National Convention”
“ At the Zonal level 3- Man caretaker Committee consisting of the Zonal Head, ZCOE Chairman and ZCP respectively will also direct the affairs of the zones as well as election matters within this 3 months. A proper terms of reference(TOR) will be communicated to all caretaker committees both at the National and Zonal Levels”
“ All Zones and Regions are directed to immediately suspend any further payment of any form of levies or donations until otherwise advised by the National Caretaker Committee. All NBM activities Worldwide are to commence forthwith, except in Edo state until further notice”
“ As the Chairman Board of Trustees of our noble Movement, I received an SOS from the NCP and some members of the NEXCO for an urgent appeal to convoke an Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism to address the existential threat(s) to the Movement, as the constitution demands”
“ It is true that, never in the history of our Movement have we witnessed such deep division that is currently bedeviling the organization. Discord among members of the MBOF, suspensions and deaxations affecting senior and respected members, including former National Heads and Chairmen -NCOE who served with honor”
Iriogbe continued, “ The existence of parallel leadership structures involving the NEXCO and NCOE coupled with the unconstitutional extension of the tenure of the present regime. Multiple ongoing legal actions targeting the current leadership”
According to him, “ The official bank account of NBM of Africa is still blocked as a result of ongoing litigations against the leadership. The Headquarters of the NBM was demolished and its land title revoked. Alleged criminal and unlawful activities associated with the Organisstion were cited by G9vernment as reason(s) for their action(s)”
“ In light of these developments, our beloved Movement now faces existential threat(s), We therefore immediately invoked the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism as enshrined in Section 12 Sub Section 9(d). This provides iner alia “the Body of Founders shall perform other duties assigned to it by the NCOE and shall quasi – judicially be responsible for intervening in internal disputes bordering on existential threat to the organization or in disputes between NEXCO and the NCOE brought to it by either N-EXCO or NCOE by providing an Alternative Dispute Resolution platform which the recommendations so made shall be acted upon.”
“ Same section, subsection 9(e) provides ” in the performance of Alternative Dispute Resolution in accordance with section 12 subsection 9(d),the BOF shall collaborate with the former National Heads and the former NCOE chairmen who fulfill section 10 subsection1(j)”
“ We must urgently reunite all aggrieved members and chart a constitutional path forward. After extensive deliberation we have come up with the following resolutions.
