The Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, RT.Hon. Sherriff Oborevwori has been commended for clearing all backlog of payment to Pensioners in the State.
Governor Oborevwori cleared backlog of pensions owed to over 11,000 former local government workers and primary school teachers.
Chief (Major) P.A Egone (Rtd) FSS JP, Member of Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council (DSAPBC), who gave the commendation on Thursday, said the beneficiaries would be very happy receiving their pension money.
Egone, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area, noted that the MORE Agenda of Governor Oborevwori was impacting positively on the lives of every Deltans.
He noted that these were patriotic citizens who served the State, adding that paying their backlog pensions was a kind gesture displayed by the Governor.
“ The 11,000 former local government workers and primary school teachers would be happy now to receive their pensions. This shows that Governor Oborevwori was determined to ensuring that every Deltans feel the impact of his administration”

Egone also commended Governor Oborevwori for taking over the reconstruction of a bad section on the Warri-Sapele-Benin road, adding that when completed will ensure the safety of Deltans and other road users.
