The Director General of Delta State Traffic Management Authority DESTMA, Hon. Dr. Benjamin Essien Okiemute has maintained that Governor Sherriff Oborevwori will be re-elected for second term in 2027 Delta State governorship election.
Okiemute, in an interview in Asaba, said Governor Oborevwori will complete the eight years of Delta Central Senatorial District ( Urhobo slot), and the Governorship will return to Delta South Senatorial District in 2031.
He said, “ His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is an Urhobo man from Okpe Local Government Area in Delta Central, and his is doing great and performing beyond expectations. The Governor started well, and building infrastructures across the State”
“ Governor Sherriff Oborevwori will serve two terms of eight years. So, my advise to any Urhobo person with governorship ambition in 2027 should jettison that ambition, because come 2027, it is Sheriff Oborevwori again”
“ The Delta South Senatorial District made up of Ijaw, Isoko, Itsekiri and Urhobos of Warri would support Oborevwori hundred percent in 2027”
He noted that the Delta State governorship ticket of All Progressives Congress APC in 2027 is for Oborevwori, adding that the Governor mean well for Delta State.
“ Any Urhobo person (s) who picks the Governorship ticket of Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Social Democratic Party and African Democratic Congress ADC will still lose the election to Governor Oborevwori”
“ The Governor is making impact in all ministries and paratatals in Delta State, even the Director General of Delta State Traffic Management Authority DESTMA is being rebranded and witnessing a facelift, this is made possible by Governor Oborevwori”
Okiemute said Governor Oborevwori despite initiating new projects, he is also completing projects inherited from former Governor Ifeayi Okowa.
According to him, in two years, Governor Oborevwori has made significant progress and his administration making laudable impacts.
“ If Governor Oborevwori can achieve all these in two years, by the time he will complete eight years in 2031, we all will be glad and grateful to God to have made Oborevwori the Governor of our dear State”
Okiemute, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress APC in Isoko South, said Governor Oborevwori joining the APC was a wise decision and for the best interest of Delta State and Deltans.
“ The people of Delta State are seeing the good works being done by Governor Oborevwori.. The flyovers projects, roads, drainages, building of Schools and Hospitals,. Projects were being executed simultaneously across the three Senatorial Districts in Delta State “
He urged Deltans to continue praying for Governor Oborevwori for more wisdom and strength to consolidate on what he has started and doing.
